The New Colonial Williamsburg Colours

When I was in the north a few weeks ago, we had a fun Fawlty Towers-like lunch with some great friends of Reggie and Boy’s. The gentleman was from Wales, and had gone to university in Cardiff where I’d lived. As we were chatting, I learned that he’d recently done a shoot for Benjamin Moore Paints, and when he sent me the link for the images, I just gasped. imageThey are so, so beautiful that I want to get rid of everything I have and make my house look just like these images. Before I saw these images, I would have turned my nose up at Williamsburg paint colours, remembering all of the dull paint shades I’ve seen in too many images to count. image

But as they say, these aren’t your gran’s Williamsburg colours. They’ve been re-interpreted for the 21st century and have become contemporary. image

Of course, the styling, which I suspect was done by my new friend’s wife, really helps make the colours look fabulous, as I think you’ll agree. image

How could you not love every single thing about this room, from the wall colour to the Dorothy Draper style chest to the black and white coats of arms?image

I love the contemporary light and the traditional chairs. M_CW_FrontHall_1088_tr1
